Website analytics & privacy
This supplement describes optional analytics on the Soda TV website, operated by Content Republic Limited. Read it with our Privacy Policy. It does not change the privacy information for the Soda TV app.
Your choice
Optional analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics”. This choice covers our first-party website analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4). A previous choice for first-party analytics alone does not enable Google Analytics: we ask you to choose again before Google loads. Choosing “No thanks” does not affect browsing or available previews.
What analytics measures
We use analytics to understand visits, story selections, search-result counts, preview playback, language changes, download and social-link clicks, and site performance. We do not use this website analytics setup for advertising audiences, remarketing or linking activity to Soda TV app accounts.
When you allow Google Analytics, Google uses cookies and processes website activity, browser and device information, and network information such as your IP address to provide its analytics service. We remove query strings and fragments from the page addresses we send, and do not send raw search terms, signed video links or app account identifiers. Google also performs basic automatic measurement; this is separate from the limited events we send. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Cookies and retention
Our first-party analytics records follow a 30-day retention rule measured from when they are received. Cleanup runs during database activity; it does not guarantee removal at the exact expiry time or immediate physical erasure of every storage copy.
Our Google Analytics cookies use a 60-day expiry that renews on return visits while analytics is allowed. Browser settings may shorten this period. Our GA4 event-level and user-level data retention setting is 14 months. New activity resets the 14-month retention period for user-level data, so that data can remain longer for returning visitors; it does not reset the retention period of each historical event. Standard aggregated reports are not limited by this setting.
Changing your choice
Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer and choose “No thanks” to stop future optional analytics. Withdrawal does not delete information already received or remove existing Google cookies. You can delete cookies and stored choices through your browser settings. Necessary requests to deliver and protect the website, images and videos continue when optional analytics is off.
